April AVA meeting @ Tawas High school– Theme was Effects of Botulism on Waterfowl presented by Tom Cooley, DNR, disease control pathologist.

Several AVA members gathered @ Foote Site Dam
area to learn/observe the pair of swans. Shortly after wards we headed to Foote Site Dam access area for a brisk walk along the river.
Eagle Run was our 3rd adventure for a quick overview
of background information on the area.
Next we headed to the NEW Riverwalk park and discovered the newly paved path to the shoreline.
Lastly we discovered Piney Hill walkway. We all learned a lot about our local area.

October Field Trip –
Sandhill Crane Migration
To our delight, we saw hundreds of cranes either feeding in the nearby fields or in flight. During our dinner share time one of our members cheered the cranes.
